16th Annual Telephone Factory Art Show

NightBldg.jpgThis weekend I'll be exhibiting in the 16th Annual Telephone Factory Art Show. This will be my fourth time participating in this event, and once again I'll be in our friend Sunny's loft 102. Joining me will be artist Amy Prasad and potter Lori Buff, and Kate will once again provide the snacks. And as if that wasn't enough going on, at 2:00 on Saturday, my band mates fromHicks with Picks will stop by and play some bluegrass for about an hour.

Art Show This Weekend

Rather, it is time for the Telephone Factory Art Show this Saturday 11-7 and Sunday 1-6. It's always a great show and a lot of fun. Looks like over 30 artists will be exhibiting, including yours truly. You also get to check out the cool loft apartments at Telephone Factory, and our good friend Sunny has graciously let us use her space again this year.

November Newsletter

autumnforestweb.jpgFall is my favorite time of year. I think it was first instilled in me because my birthday is in November. When I was young I loved fall festivals, Halloween, and Thanksgiving dinner. As I got older I began to look forward to football season, cool weather, fireplaces, and later in life, lower electric bills.

Happy Holidays

RMNP.jpgIf anyone is interested, I'm going to produce some notecards for the holiday of this image from Rocky Mountain National Park. The title is "Lone Ranger" and I painted this in 22 degree weather in February last year with Kate. As a gift to my subscribers, I've set up a coupon for you to get these at 20% off, which is not far above cost. The notecards are on printed on archival watercolor paper and suitable for framing. They are 5.5"x4.25" and come with envelopes. To purchase, choose the notecards online and the coupon code is IWAMFC.

November Newsletter (please ignore the previous one)

chattahoocheecalm.jpgNovember is shaping up to be an exciting month! In addition to the fabulous colors of fall, I'm busy getting ready for the 14th Annual Telephone Factory Art Show. The show is 12/5-12/6 and I'll be showing in loft #102. You can find details on the web site, and I really hope to see you there. Kate will be catering my exhibit and we are planning on a big crowd.

Don vs The Volcano

kilaueaweb.jpgThere is nothing like spending the day on and in an active volcano. Kate and I were at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which is a phenomenal experience. We hiked the Kiauea Iki trail, which first skirts around the rim and then through the floor of a crater full of steam vents. We ate lunch at the Volcano House which features a buffet and a view of the main Kilauea caldera.
